I built Authes because I just wanted simple & secure auth for my projects.
Most auth providers felt like a waste. I didn’t want to install huge SDKs, hand over a credit card, or worry about tracking cookies and pricing tiers down the road. And I definitely didn't want to run a whole database just to handle logins.
All I needed was a dead-simple OpenID Connect service. No up-sells, no tracking, and no funny business. Just standard tokens for any website or app.
Authes runs as a single Go binary using plain YAML files for storage. You can self-host it in a few seconds or run it in Docker.
It's also an open community service—that’s why it’s on a .org domain. Authes.org is free for anyone who just needs simple auth without the headaches.
